Matt McMurry is a young race car driver from Arizona who is the youngest person to ever test in a formula Mazda at the age of 12! He also became the youngest to complete the four-day driving course at the Bondurant Racing School of High Performance Driving. At age 13 he became the youngest graduate of the Skip Barber 2-Day advanced program.
This documentary video was created for Latino Perspective Magazine’s, “Honoring Latinos Who Serve Luncheon.” The 13th infantry battalion from Tucson, Arizona was the first local Marine Corps Reserves activated to fight in the Korean War in July of 1950.
Matt McMurry is the youngest-ever driver of a Formula Mazda, an open wheel racer.
Matt has been racing karts since age 4, became the youngest ever graduate of the famed Bondurant School of Performance Driving (where he drove Corvette C6 for 3 days), and now adds a Formula Mazda to “youngest ever” list.
He hopes to add the 24 Hours of Le Mans to the list in a couple years.
